I finally finished my first scene of FX animation today.

Yup, all 7¹ hand drawn frames of it (2 levels).

(Funny looks all round.)

Trust me, if they weren't there you would definitly notice, as everyone would look like they're floating instead of standing on solid ground.

Throwing Rocks

I was walking with my friend D. at lunch today, who commented that the Liberty Village had "so many animation studios, that you could throw a rock and easily hit someone you know."

I actually ran into someone I hadn't seen in 10 years- twice! ( no, I wasn't throwing rocks, if you must know.)

Overheard at lunch yesterday:

One of the animators was sketching at Paramount's Wonderland theme park and was asked by an interested soul if he was an "artist". "No, I'm a ride. Hop on!"

The Guilt Angel.

Who is the " Guilt Angel"? Well, according to sister Jenn, she comes down from the heavens once you become a Mother and magically bestowes the sacred powers of guilt upon you forever more.

These powers of guilt will never fail you. You just look at your intended victim's (i.e. spouse/children) and they will feel your powers immediately.

Admittedly, some have stronger powers then others.

I was having lunch and a chat with my mom; I wanted to tell her something, but got so distracted within the conversation that I forgot what it was.

3 hours later and I still can't remember.

Can you believe I actually spent a good portion of my afternoon learning to tie knots? ( I can now tie 5!) Now I am able to actually teach the Cubs in the pack to tie 'em.

... is one of the few times that my son gets to stay up past his bedtime. He is totally in his element and plays on his cousin's computer. All day.

I actually made 25 cents drawing this "Rhino" for something on Mechanical Turks. I'll admit it was kind of fun.

I'll have to be careful or I'm going to get addicted to this.

So, far I've only had 2 rejections for mis- tagging something. How was I suppose to know that "how mechanics can do things to your car engine so it won't pass the environmental" wasn't under "environmental".
Sheesh.

Yesterday was a perfect spring-like day. Warm, sunny, a good day to do many outdoor activities.

Today, however, it's snowing/raining. It's cold and damp. Blechh.

Well, at least I'd know he would find a way to get out of there. And, he is kind of nice looking...then, of course, I would have to agree to be his companion and travel the universe, saving it from nasties like Daleks and Cybermen...fun!!

Happy World Autism Day!

I'm not going to use my blog to blather on about Autism (I'll leave that to the Talk show hosts and Celebs), but instead thank all the people who help those kids and adults who have this neurological disorder (notice I did not call it a "disease".) .

Sounds like a shojo manga, doesn't it?
Well, what can you expect from someone who spent the day laying on the couch while hopped up on Advils trying to get rid of a particularily nasty migraine.

And, yes, I was reading Shojo Beat magazine, if you must know.
